Intrusion Detection Systems Taxonomy

A survey on intrusion detection systems
General info

Intrusion detection Systems (IDS)

is defined as identifying unauthorized use, misuse and abuse of computer systems by both inside and outside intruders. The main task of an intrusion detection system (IDS) is to defend a computer system or computer network by detecting hostile attacks on a network system or host device, monitoring the events occurring in a computer system or network and analyzing them for signs of intrusions.

Results

Four different methods were compared in this research.

Many methods have been introduced to identify intrusions and attacks. These methods are classified based on various variables, including performance and process loading. In this research, we have tried to introduce different methods of detecting intrusions from different differences, and evaluate the efficiency and environments of each, then four of these methods are compared. The security system has been selected because of its simple and high performance due to the ability to detect and monitor shortcuts.
